KORELA Chocholatá (Nymphicus hollandicus)
Korela chocholatá je papagáj malej veľkosti pochádzajúci z Austrálie .Prírodné sfarbenie je sivo žltobiele .Vzniklo už veľa sfarbení ako albín, straka ,lutino ,perlovaná atd. Je obľúbeným domácim miláčikom ,niektorí ľudia ich však nemajú radi kvôli hluku. Ideálna klietka je 80 cm výška, 70 cm šírka a 100 cm dĺžka .
Spoznávacie znaky :Samec : jemné šedé perie ,niekedy tiež šedo modré alebo hnedo modré. Nadchvostové krovky striebristo šedé nápadne biele pruhy na krídlach. Hrdlo ,líca a čelo žiarivo citrónové žlté ,na lícach výrazná oranžová škvrna. Ozobie šedo hnedé.
Samica: žltá farba na hlave a lícne škvrny svetlejšie ,prekladané šedými perami. Spodná strana chvostových pier priečne pruhovaná. Mladí vtáci: ako samica, ale s kratším chvostom.
Korela v prírode: Korely obývajú celú Austráliu okrem pobrežných oblastí. Radi sa zdržujú v blízkosti vodných tokov a tam kde sa pestuje obilie. Austrálske podnebie je veľmi premenlivé .Korely to však zvládajú kvôli svojmu periu a telesnému kontaktu. Žijú hlavne v malých stádach. Jej najväčšími nepriateľmi sú dravé vtáky, hady a tiež človek. Živia sa korienkami ,vetvičkami,.. a spôsobujú škody na poliach tým že sa živí obilím.
Chov: O rozmnožovaní korel píšem len to čo som našla v literatúre, lebo sa zatiaľ tomu nevenujem a píšem to v krátkosti . U korel nastáva pohlavná dospelosť vo veku 9 mesiacov .
Hniezdia väčšinou od augusta do decembra do hniezdnej búdky veľkosti: pôdorys 30 a 30 cm, steny sú vysoké 3 až 40 cm .Vstupný otvor musí mat priemer 8 až 9 cm .Počet znesených vajec je 4 až 5,niekedy viac. Každé dva dni jedno vajce .Na vajciach sedia 18 až 21 dni .Mladé korely vyletia z hniezda vo veku asi 33 dní.
Korela ako domáci miláčik :Naučí sa každá korela rozprávať ?Korely nepatria k tak veľkým talentom na rozprávanie ako napr. papagáj žako .Sú však veľkými talentami na pískanie stále tej istej melódie a možno aj viacerých .Naučia sa to však len vtedy ,ak im ju budete často opakovať ,najlepšie pískať .Keď však chcete ,aby sa naučili opakovať slová musíte veľa cvičiť a to zo začiatku s jednoduchými slovami .Sú korely prítulné ?Žiadny vták nebude rád ,keď ho chytíš do ruky a budeš ho chcieť hladkať .Milujú však sedenie na ramene a hlavne ,keď máte náušnice ,ktoré sa trblietajú alebo niečo zaujímavé .Veľmi radi objavujú nové veci a skúmajú ich zobákom .Najradšej je ,keď ju škrabkáš za chocholkou a ticho hovoríš . S kúskom prosa alebo pamlsku prilákaš na ruku takmer každého vtáka a chce to len trpezlivosť . Ako začať ochočovat ?Najprv položte ruku kludne na drôty klietky ,kým sa nebudú báť a tak pomaly ticho sa prihovárajúc otvárajte klietku ,kým si tiež nezvyknú ,že od vás nehrozí nebezpečie .Pozor !Nikdy nechoďte na nich rukou s vrchu .Mali by pocit ,že ich loví dravý vták a rýchlo by ste stratili dôveru .Potom to skúšajte s rukou .Buď pomocou jedla alebo hladkania na brušku .Cvičenie opakujte v klietke ,kým si budete isti ,že vták si stúpi na vašu ruku .Potom mu môžete dopriať prvé prelietnutie po izbe .
Potrava :Ako základ krmiva pre korely sú hotové zmesky, ktoré sú v každom obchode pre zvieratá .Dôležité je však ,aby potrava nebola príliš tučná .Mala by obsahovať malé zrná ,čo sú rôzne druhy prosa ,ovos ,pšenicu ,lesknicu ,konope ,kardi a slnečnicové semienka . Krmivo musí byt čerstvé ,lebo čím je staršie tým má menej živín .Keď si nie sme istí ,či je krmivo dobré tak im ho radšej nedávajme . Dobrým znamením je klíčivosť . Krmivo je napr. zlé ,keď je na ňom pleseň ,alebo má prenikavý zápach .Krmivo je dobré uskladniť na suché a vetrané miesto . Ku suchému krmivu by sme mali dávať aj ovocie(jablká, kivi ,jahody ,čerešne ,mango ,..) ,zeleninu (reďkvičky , mrkvu ,uhorky ,hrášok ,...)a niekedy aj bylinky (bazalka ,púpava ,sedmokráska ,...) . Vždy to však treba dôkladne umyť , nedávať postrekované a z čistého prostredia .Mali by ste im zvoliť dennú krmnú dávku okolo 1 až 2 lyžíc zrna na deň .Keď im chcete obohatiť jedálniček môžete pomocou tyčiniek ,ktoré dostať v obchode a tiež vitamíny. škodlivé sú zbytky jedla ,slané tyčinky ,zemiakové lupienky , veľa soli a korenia ,čokoláda ,veľké množstvo tuku ,cukru a farbív .Občas smie vták dostať nesladené džúsy ináč vodu .Niekedy môže dostať tiež ,ale to len výnimočne suchý chlieb ,celozrnné sušienky ,vychladene varené zemiaky ,jogurt ,tvaroh ,netučný syr ,musli .
Choroby : Nemocný vták často prestane jest potravu, je tichý ,spí na dvoch nohách ,keď postrehnete prvé príznaky ochorenia mali by ste ísť čo najskôr ku veterinárovi .Niekedy to však nepostrehnete ,najlepšie je kontrolovať trus . Nemocný vták má trus riedky a prvé čo potrebuje je teplo .U korel sa najčastejšie vyskytujú červené vtáčie roztoče ,vši a roztoče Cnemidocoptes .Vták môže dostať aj otras mozgu a to najčastejšie z dôvodu narazenia do okna ,takže ho pri lietaní treba zakryť . Chovateľ by mal mat lekárničku a svojho vtáka by mal poznať aby vedel zistiť kedy je chorý .
Hygiena :Pri čistení peria vie vták otočiť hlavu až o 180 stupňov .Málo kedy sa samy umývajú preto ich treba striekať postrekovačom do ktorého neboli nikdy pridane chemikálie .Sú čistotné .
